Сказку «Аленький цветочек» записал известный русский писатель
Сергей Тимофеевич Аксаков (1791 - 1859).
Сказка «Аленький цветочек» была записана Аксаковым для внучки Оленьки одновременно с «Детскими годами Багрова внука» и помещена в приложении к этой книге, чтобы, по признанию самого автора, «не прерывать рассказа о детстве» . В письме от 23 ноября 1856 года Сергей Тимофеевич делился своим замыслом с сыном:
«Я теперь занят эпизодом в мою книгу: я пишу сказку, которую в детстве я знал наизусть и рассказывал на потеху всем со всеми прибаутками сказочницы Пелагеи. Разумеется, я совсем забыл о ней; но теперь, роясь в кладовой детских воспоминаний, я нашёл во множестве разного хлама кучу обломков этой сказки, а как она войдёт в состав «Дедушкиных рассказов» , то я принялся реставрировать эту сказку… »
Впервые «Аленький цветочек» был напечатан в 1858 году.
